To wrap up our visit to Paris we went up the Montparnasse Tower. It was equal to the Eiffel Tower’s view. Unlike the Eiffel tower going up to the top of Montparnasse tower was a breeze, no lines to wait in, no elevator jam packed with 100 people, and with the view was very much the same the so Montparnasse was a fine alternative. Since this is our last post we would like to thank you for reading and commenting on our blog Thanks!

Pantheon version B

I loved the Pantheon because it celebrates reason and science using the emotional tools that are typically used for religion. Watching Foucalt’s pendulum swing in the great dome is as meditive as a litany, but it stimulates creative thought instead of stifling it.

Seeing Voltaire’s crypt was the best part.

After we finished looking inside we sat on the steps in the sun and enjoyed the view of the Eiffel Tower and the students playing ball in the square.

Eiffel Tower climb

February 22, 2008 · 1 Comment

Today we got to see both the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel tower. First we saw the Arc de Triomphe which was HUGE. The faces of it were beautiful carvings into the stone. We walked through it but not up into it (our museum pass days had ended) because the price was a little high. After that we rode the metro to the Eiffel Tower. At the second floor the view was incredible but the really nice view was at the top. At the top we could see for miles and it felt like Paris was so small. After we got down we went to Trocadero square and took a picture of the Eiffel Tower at night.

looking at Wuhan

After last week when we went to the Eiffel Tower to find police and firemen evacuation the tower, we returned and visited all three levels.

Because we wanted to see it lit and unlit we arrived awhile before sundown. It was still light enough to see.

At the very top is a frieze showing which direction to look to see various cities. We looked for Wuhan.
